Abstract in Spanish
En el presente trabajo se estudió el desempeño neutrónico de los haces fríos y térmicos del reactor RA-10. Dicho estudio involucró, por un lado, el desarrollo de herramientas de cálculo y, por otro, su implementación para la obtención de resultados de relevancia. La etapa de desarrollo de herramientas consistió en la programación de componentes en el código McStas capaces de caracterizar en forma detallada el campo de neutrones y generar en base a tal información fuentes de distribuciones para su utilización en el cálculo de los haces. Se obtuvieron resultados tanto integrales como distribucionales en los puntos de utilización de los haces corroborando el cumplimiento de todos los requerimientos de diseño.
Abstract in English
The present work was focused on the neutron performance of the cold and thermal beams of the RA-10 reactor. This work involved, on the one hand, the development of calculation tools and, on the other hand, its implementation to obtain relevant results. The tool development stage consisted of programming components in McStas code capable of characterizing in detail the neutron field and generating, based on this information, distributional sources to be used in the calculation of these beams. Both integral and distributional results were obtained at the endings of the beams confirming the fulfillment of the design requirements.
