Abstract in Spanish

En este trabajo se realizo un análisis elastoplástico del Sello RT. Se trata de un sello de tipo contacto metal-metal, en el cual el sellado se produce debido a la deformación plástica generada en dicho contacto. Este sello sería implementado en una facilidad del reactor RA-10. El análisis se llevo a cabo mediante el modelado con elementos nitos, haciendo uso del software Abaqus. Se realizo un estudio de sensibilidad del sello frente a diversos parámetros. En particular, se analizo la dependencia de la presión y longitud de contacto frente a las tolerancias geométricas de las piezas, a las propiedades mecánicas del material con el que están fabricadas y, finalmente, frente a la magnitud de la precarga del sello. Dadas las condiciones de operación del sello y de la posibilidad de su reutilización se decidió, ademas, realizar un estudio de los ciclados térmicos y mecánicos a los que esta sometido.

Abstract in English

An elastoplastic analysis of the RT seal was performed in this project. This is a metal to metal contact type seal, in which the sealing is achieved due to the plastic deformation generated at the contact. This seal will be implemented in a RA-10 reactor facility. The analysis was carried out by nite element modeling using the software Abaqus. The sensitivity of the seal to various parameters was studied. In particular, it was analysed how the pressure and contact length depend on the geometric tolerances of the parts, on the mechanical properties of the material they are made of and, nally, on the magnitude of the seal preload. Given the operating conditions of the seal and the possibility of its reuse, it was also decided to study the thermal and mechanical cycles to which it is subjected.
